I Like the Word "Hooligans"

We have two big things coming up real soon, but before I dive in, let me show you my senior schedule.

Period 1: AP English (Longo)
Ehh, I was hoping maybe for Lagory but I think Ms. Longo is nice.
Period 2: AP Spanish (Melo)
Same classmates, same teacher for the past two years...
Period 3: AP Calculus AB (Park)
This made my day when my schedule came home. YES I HAVE PARK WHAATT.
Period 4: Maybe free? Or scholarship?
Period 5: AP Gov (Milks)
Yeah.
Period 6: Maybe free? Or scholarship?
FREE PERIOD PLEASE PLEASE PRETTY PLEASE.
Period 7: Maybe free? Or scholarship?
Remember Cole? The one with that weird complex? Yeah, that Cole. We help make the Main Office rock more than it usually does.
Period 8: AP Bio (Shimamoto)
Biology, oh, how I have missed you!!! Kendall and I are having a competition. I am going to win.

Sadly, Kendall and I do not have any classes together. Except homeroom with Mama Hall. And, maybe, hopefully, period 6 party-slash-free period?

[Evan insert starts here]
All right, I'm super sad that I do not have my English 9 class with Dr. Won. We were the craziest, most sexually perverted class ever...and I loved every minute of it. Many of our jokes were about me...unfortunately...but I will always remember my BFFs: ZACHARIAH, SEAN MICHELLE, and DELIRIOUS.
[Evan insert ends here]

Just a side note, the only reason that the jokes were all about me in English 9 was that I was apparently "too innocent at the time" and everyone laughed whenever they thought I didn't get any of Shakespeare's dirty jokes (I understood them, I just didn't feel like it was necessary to laugh out loud or make annoying comments...except for that bench-pressing question...). Oh, and uh "flying ham"? Or was it "frying spam"?

Anyway, our two big things: Our anniversary and Harry Potter! And they're on the same day! Not really, but kind of.

First off: OUR ANNIVERSARY. So, let me tell you the story of the summer of '09, a boy named Kendall, a girl named Jen and the birth of this blog.

It all started in the summer of 2009. We were in summer school. I was taking Geometry B and, although Kendall registered late for a summer class because he only realized sometime during the last several weeks of that school year that he had nothing to do for the summer, he managed to get in one of the morning Write Right! classes (he was an idiot back when we were freshmen, he says so himself). Kendall's class finished at 10 and I usually got out of class at 12:30. I took the bus home almost every day after class and Kendall sometimes walked with me to the bus stop (Notice how he didn't "walk me" but "walked with me"? I love syntax.)

*flashback*
Jen: Walk with me to the bus stop?
Kendall: No.
Jen: What if I get raped?!
Kendall: Uhh...what if I get raped on my way back?
*flashback ends*

Maybe it was on July 12 or 13 when I showed Kendall my bucket list, a list of things that I would like to do before I die, as we walked to the bus stop. He decided to take it home for the day just to look at it (it was a long list) and he came back the next day with a paper filled with his comments about my list. He starred the things that either he also wanted to do or simply made him smile to know that I wanted to do them. But on July 14, 2009, as Kendall waited for my class to finish (he hung out in the library during those two hours like all cool people do), he created an account here on Blogger because one of the things on my bucket list was to "create a blog". As I walked toward our usual morning bench after my class, he came and met me halfway and handed me a piece of paper. He had printed out a page from the blog he had created for me.

But something happened with that one (maybe he forgot the password, or he couldn't get in anymore or whatever) so the first try FAILed.

So on July 15, 2009, we tried again in the computer lab during the half-hour recess before my geometry class. And our very first post was born on that day.

I don't think we were really thinking, or planning anything special: we just wanted to create a blog because, well, because we had never done it before. I don't remember a conversation between us, agreeing that we would share this blog and that we would do all of the things on Kendall's list (his list of comments and starred items and smiley faces, a response to my bucket list) together, hopefully before we physically separated for college. There was no planning, no laying out of what we were going to do and how this was all going to work. Things just sort of happened, and we felt them happening, so we let them happen because we knew, or at least guessed, that if we hadn't, if we had tried to control things, we would not be the people we are now and we would not be the best friends we are now.

If you read our earliest posts, you can tell we were quite young and immature back then. We posted random things (even more so than our usual dose of randomness) and updated irregularly. There were long bouts of neglect and occasional  spurts of posts. The first blog didn't look like this little beauty you're looking at now either. I did a lot of the remodeling last summer when I had a lot more time in my hands.

Kendall also helped, I think, but his biggest concern was that he didn't like the maroon color of the title header (I kept it anyway so HA!).
We did BEDA(ugust) for the first time that year, and we updated more and more and more during our junior year to make up for our sophomore year.

And here we are.

I think I've said this in a previous post, but I honestly cannot say when Kendall and I became best friends (probably because you can't really pinpoint a specific moment in time like that because becoming best friends isn't like turning a page in a book). But in my mind, it all started with this blog. With who(m?) else in the whole wide world would I share a blog and a bucket list? We became good friends when we were freshmen, but I didn't start thinking of him as my best friend until the summer of 2009. I had a pretty harsh sophomore year (we don't need to get into that) and he was one of the people who made it better and stayed with me. So I guess you could say that it all started with this blog.

Maybe Kendall has a different angle to this story, but this is my angle. Maybe he'll share his with you later, if it's any different from mine (KENDALL, I'M SURE YOU DID NOT THINK OR FEEL THE SAME WAY AS I DID, SO DO IT. YOU BETTER.)

The cool thing is that, here we are, two years later. And on the same day, the final movie of something we both hold very dear to our hearts, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, comes out. And what better way to celebrate our two years of awesome bestfriendship and ten years of our lives engulfed in a magical whirlwind of spells, Hogwarts, gingers, house elfs and more than to GO TO THE MIDNIGHT MOVIE PREMIERE TOGETHER?! That would have been the coolest thing, if only we were doing exactly that, RIGHT?!?!

Kendall will explain because, you know, it's all because of him that it's not happening. And because I actually have to go work now...

Today....
I really loved...the air conditioning in the CCO.
I smiled because...I got a pretty rose from the Kapiolani Women's Center.

MOAR HARRY!

This blog post comes to you in 7 parts.

PART 1: Moar Harry!
I finished Half-Blood Prince this week, and started Deathly Hallows and now I am over halfway done with it. Since last time I watched Order of the Phenix, and it was amazing, as always, and I plan on watching Half-Blood Prince tonight. Something that I noticed: people were freaking out over the fact that they didn't have that fight scene at the end of the sixth movie, but when I read the book, there was practically no fight scene! The only thing that they left out was the few lines mentioning that Ron, Hermione, and Ginny were fighting, but I mean, honestly, was it THAT big of a deal? People get too worked up over that kind of stuff. And I really liked in the movie when they all are crowding around Dumbledore and they raise up their wands. One more thing: I like how Ginny and Harry kiss in the book better, I don't really like their relationship as much in the movie. Anyways, less than a week to go, so I will probably try to blog very soon after I see the movie. EXCITED!

PART 2: Hogwarts Letter!!
I wish... Nah, I got my schedule for my senior year in the mail, so let's discuss.
Homeroom:          Mama Hall (Same as last year)
Period 1:               Free (1st Semester) / Writing for Media (2nd Semester) [Meh, I didn't really              pick that class...]
Period 2:               AP Bio (I am really excited for this class, but no one is in it with me....)
Period 3:               Shakespeare (1st Semester) [W00T!!!] / Free (2nd Semester)
Period 4:               Photo 2 (1st Semester) / Free (2nd Semester) [Double Free?!?!]
Period 5:               Precalculus Honors (W00T!!! Mr. Park!!! I'm excited!!! And I promise to be a Snape!)
Period 6:               Free (1st Semester) [W00T!] / Bible (2nd Semester) [Meh, I should have taken it before.]
Period 7:               Asian American Experience (1st Semester) [Easy class with a lot of friends in it] / Photo 2 (2nd Semester)
Period 8:               Spanish 4

Overall, it seems like it is going to be a good year and I am excited.

PART 3: Free Slurpee day?!?!?
Since when!!?!??!?! I am FREAKING EXCITED!!! (Even if it is a baby cup...)

PART 4: The Hectic Glow
So I have been holding out on you guys. I have a secret obsession that I have been hiding for a long time now. It's a band, called "The Hectic Glow", and I love them so much that I just can't not talk about them anymore. The reason that I have been keeping it a secret is because they are such an underground band. No one knows when any of their concerts are going to be, until the night of, and if you are lucky to hear about one, GO! They had one in Hawaii a few weeks back, but I missed it.
I would try to share some of their music with you guys, but it isn't available online. Their last album was released on a cassette tape, and the one before that was on vinyl. It's hard enough to get a hold of their music, I just can't let it get out there. Something the we fans say is "They're so underground, even I haven't heard of them." Seriously, they are just so awesome that they cannot become mainstream, that would be awful.
I had to talk about them now because they just released the sheet music for their new single. I can't tell you the title of it, but I can say that they sang it with the AMAZING Paige Railstone! Anyways, if you ever get a hold of anything of theirs, don't pass it up, they are awesome!

PART 5: Anniversary!
It is almost our two year anniversary!!! You know, you and me!! On July 15 (DH!!!) of 2009, I made this blog (kind of). I'll save the story for later, but I just wanted to let you know. Get ready for a party.

PART 6: Reading
What should I read next? I have a bunch of things that I need to read, but I'm not sure what should come after HP. Help me?

PART 7: Tumblr!
I can't stop posting HP stuff on my tumblr!! There's just too much of it!!!

Anubi-y

So there I was, plopped down on my blue bed, with a thick book, freshly opened. My eyes wandered to the first line, preparing themselves to be amazed. But then, I remembered: I haven't yet blogged this week. So here I am, ready to dish out my deepest hopes and dreams to a digital form of a diary.

Not really, though, but kind of.

This week has been rather crazy and stressful as will next week be, but that doesn't mean it wasn't interesting! For example, I watched way too much TV than I should have, I went rock climbing, I spent three straight hours in the Art Gallery, I had two Frozen Strawberry Lemonades from McDonalds, I gave a presentation for Just Don't Fall, I read, I ate bacon, I tromped, I ate an omellete for the first time, I jumped, and I slept. Good week right? Right.

Anyways, I've been thinking a lot lately about taking chances, and how it's really just about overcoming your fears. Because the truth is, every time you take a big risk in your life, no matter how it ends up, you're always glad you took it. Okay, I didn't really say that, that was actually a quote from Scrubs, but still, I love that quote. It's true right? When you take risks, you hope for it to end up well, but there is always a chance that it won't. You are scared of what will come from it, maybe someone will judge you for it, or maybe someone will say "No!" or maybe you or someone else will get hurt. And even if that does happen, who cares? You took that risk and you should be proud. Going out on a limb and putting yourself out there is something that not a lot of us can do easily and if you do, you should be content with yourself.

Meh, yeah. Okay, I really want to go read more of The Throne of Fire now. KAY BYE!!!

Day Five: Bailar-ing and Threes

I'd like to apologize in advance for the blurriness of this image, the iPhone camera is not the best. So if you can't read what it says, it says "Si, Quiero bailar. =] A three ate more threes. XD" Now, I don't remember the exact origin of the paper itself, but I do know of the phrases written upon the note.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that I received this note in my locker in ninth grade. And right now I want you to guess who it's from. Right now. Go on. Guess.
Did you get it? Yup, it's from Jen. The XD gave it away huh? *Sigh* 9th-grade-Jen, you're so obvious. So yes, Jen put this note in my locker, but what does it mean!?!?!?! Let's start with the first phrase shall we? "Si, Quiero bailar." Now, I'm sure that you are asking yourself right now: "Self, why are the two first words capitalized but the third isn't!?!" Well, I can't answer that for you, but what I can answer is what that Spanish phrase means in English and that would be: "Yes, I want to dance."
In order for one to understand that phrase, they would need a little back story. This goes all the way back to my seventh and eighth grade days. Now watch out, you are about to see 12-year old girl Kendall again. Ready? Okay, this story originates from "High School Musical." Yup. More specifically, the song "Bop to the Top" sung by Ryan and Sharpay. Throughout the song, they say little random Spanish phrases, and in the very beginning of the song, Sharpay says "Quieres bailar?" which means "Do you want to dance?" Now fast forward a year or two to freshman year. More specifically, May 20, 2009 when I emailed Jen about a history project (the country one in which I was paired with Jared W.) and I entitled it "Quieres bailar?" Now, there is no mention of the title at all in the email thread itself, but I have come to the assumption that Jen made this note during one of the days proceeding the email.

Next: "A three ate more threes." Now I'm not sure how this started or whose was first or why this even happened (although I'm sure Jen does), but this was just a clever way to remember my locker combination. "A THREE(3) ATE(8) more THREES(33)" [Don't get excited, this isn't my locker combination anymore.] It was cool. I really liked the idea of that and I thought that sentence was really clever and it was helpful in remembering it. Since then I have tried to do that with my other locker combos, but it never really seems to work out.

Day One: I Won!

Being the completely unoriginal person that I am, I am going to copy Jen's Memory Box idea, seeing as I have a Memory Box of my own. Now, although the idea of our Memory Boxes are the same, the nature of the contents may be very different.

Let's start with a little back story of the box itself. Bellow, there is a picture of it, and as you can see, it is an interesting looking box. It is covered in writing and stickers, and you may be asking yourself: "Self, why does this box look like it belongs to an 8 year old?" Well imaginary, example of a person, it did belong to an 8 year old. Back in the day, when I was a young-en, my mom bought me and my brother these boxes to pot our Yu-Gi-Oh cards in. However we have no need for said tasks, so I now am in possession of both boxes, one is my Memory Box and the other holds all tickets of any sort. A few years ago when I decided to turn it into a Memory Box, I decided to line it with paper so no one could see in, and put a lock on it. These two things were good ideas back in the day, but now, they are making the box even harder to use, since it is practically overflowing. "With what?' you ask. Mainly, there are papers. Notes from friends, cards, invitations, doodles, basically anything that I found meaningful. One of those things, I am about to show you now.

The first item that I have to present to you is this letter. And now before I explain the letter itself, I must give you some background information. Last year, around this time, the book "The Red Pyramid" (There, quotations, happy?) came out, and online they had this contest. It was a series of puzzles that were extremely difficult. I was able to play through it through the help I received from the internet. One of the people who beat the puzzle would be selected at random and were to receive and awesome prize. Now, I didn't win that, but I did win the prize that they gave to the first 100 people who beat the puzzle.
Here is a picture of the letter that they sent to me, months after I entered the contest.
In my prize, I received a poster, some cards, and an audio book version of the book. It was really cool to win something like this, and I had fun listening to some of the book. (Although, it was taking to slow, so I stopped listening to it and started just reading it.) It is a cool memory to have in my Box.

Terrifying

I spent a good portion of the day re-reading The Red Pyramid because the second Kane Chronicles book comes out on May 3rd, and I don't remember it at all. It is good, but one of my main thoughts while reading it was how this book and The Lost Hero were very dragged out. Like, there is a look of extraneous events that happen in between. I don't know, I just feel like it could have been condensed.

Speaking of condensing, did you see the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 deleted scenes??? EPIC! I really wish that they would have kept the Dudley and Petunia scenes. When I first saw the movie, I was really sad that they didn't include that, and I really wished that they would have put those in there. I did like the skipping stones scene, I just felt like it didn't belong in the movie, and neither did the scene with Ron and Mr. Weasley. The scene with Mr. Weasley at the Ministry wasn't necessary, but I would have preferred it in there. Which leaves me with the scene in the tent when they are talking about horcruxes. WHY THE EFF DID THEY NOT INCLUDE THAT IN THE MOVIE!!!! IN THAT SHORT MINUTE LONG CLIP, THERE WAS SO MUCH VITAL INFORMATION THAT WOULD HAVE MADE OTHER THINGS MAKE MORE SENSE!!! I was mad when I saw the movie that they didn't include the taboo thing, yet they still used it!! Gah, stupid film makers!

By the way, I'm freaking EXCITED for PORTAL 2 to come out!!! Now, I usually don't talk about video games that much in everyday life because I don't really play video games THAT often, but I am sooooo freaking excited for Portal 2 to come out because I lOVVVVVED Portal sooooo much. (Can you tell how excited I am by the elongation of my letters?) If you don't know, Portal is this awesomely, well-crafted, insane-ly-chalenging, puzzle game where you have control of two sides of a portal. That was not a good explination. Well anyway, it comes out on Tuesday, and that's basically all I'm gonna be doing for a while.

Feliz Navidad!

So, uh, yeah, today was my birthday. Kind of. And I have to say, it was kind of awesome. Thanks to people like Jen. Her scavenger hunt took everything that was great about the other ones, and added her own aspects to it. It was really great and I enjoyed it. A lot. My favorite part of it was the puzzle (which I am using as bookmarks now), the Winney part, and the spiders (even though they were gross). So, once again, THANK YOU JEN!!!

Other great things that happened today were the brownie cake that Kelsey made me, the water bottle and magic trick that Shann got me, and the card at 10:30 that Jaime got me. Thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday. Also, don't you hate it when random people when you barely know say happy birthday on Facebook. I mean, it is nice and all, but they just see it on the home page and say happy birthday. What I want to do one year is not have it say that it's my birthday just to see who remembers, although I do kind of like having so many people saying happy birthday.

My parents gave me a bunch of tiny toys and cool things today. Some examples: a water expanding starfish, a slinky, a yo-yo (WHICH I FREAKING LOVE), a Mrs. Potato head, a solar powered light, a tick-tac-toe board thing, a puppy puzzle, and a mini Lego ship thing.

Also, I went to Walmart and Borders today. BY MYSELF! (Driving is freaking awesome). I didn't really have any thing in specific that I wanted, so I decided to buy Looking for Alaska and An Abundance of Katherines because they were cheap. By the way, John Green's new book isn't about a deserted island anymore. It's about a teenager with cancer who likes Swedish hip-hop. Just a fun fact.

Yeah, I want to write more, but I don't really have anything else to say. So once again, thank you Jen and all others who helped make my birthday awesome. (OOOoooo Hawaii Five-0 is on and it looks good.)

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Reactions???

Um, it was amazing. Brain-bits-mingled-with-bitter-tears-all-over-the-theater-seats-kind-of-amazing. I was pleased; far from disappointed. There were bits that I didn't exactly LOVE, but I am definitely very pleased with it.

Uhh, yeah, sorry. No specifics yet. I'm still digesting. Check back in a while. Like, the first week of December maybe.

Drained/Appreciative

Well, I was going to wait for you to post, but seeing as I spent all day reading and I still have homework to do, I will post now.

So I finished Mockingjay today. Which means I read all three books in one week. 1,155 pages in one week. I feel drained. They were amazing, but I can't even tell what I think of the books yet. There is one specific thing that I don't like but you will have to wait to hear. It will be extremely emotional for you. Just a warning. But it is rewarding, I think. I hope that you have read more. You need to catch up. Should I give Josh Mockingjay for now? Since he read the others but not that one.

Ha ha, I still need to write a paper that I have not yet started. And I have a test for Am Lit tomorrow. And I had a dilly problem for math, but I think I got it. Also I did well on Chem homework, except one problem which was converting Fahrenheit to Celsius, that was hard. Oh and I didn't understand one page in the spanish homework so I didn't do it, but I will ask Shann about it tomorrow.

I think it will be a while before I start on another book because I don't really have much time and reading that much in one week was kind of draining.

Pigfarts.

That was all I could think of when I saw Draco last night when I was watching some of Half-Blood Prince. Also I gained sort of a new found appreciation for Harry Potter. I can't really explain it, but I guess that I take Harry Potter for granted. It is one of those things that has always been around so I never really took much consideration to it. But when I was watching last night, I sort of felt like it was something really important. Even though I know that it is something that is really important. Also I have had "Voldemort is Going Down" stuck in my head. I also really like this song and I like how they used it in 5 and 6. (Skip to 1:00) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XVZNdUn0yrA&feature=related.
Hermione's got nice skin.

Soon you are going to have to teach me the rules of dialogue quotation marks because I do not understand any of that at all and I don't want that to be a issue in November.

Okay, yeah, I think that that is it. I hope that you didn't post while I was writing this.

Sunday, August 22, 2010

Yups.

So yeah, um I read your post yesterday, but now I don't remember it enough to respond so yeah.

Yesterday was cool because I was just chilling and such then out of the purple I decided to re-arange/organize my room. Before, all of my books were in a drawer, but I wanted them on a book case, so we went to walmart and I got a book case (fully furnished picture of facebook), siscors, and the book The Hunger Games. So Shayne said that Josh read it and it is really good and also, I heard Kristina and Hank talk about it before and on the back of the book, there is a little except of John. So yeah. You have to read it next.

Then today we went to Bed, Bath and Beyond, and then target and I got a really cool desk lamp and I got the second book in The Hunger Games series. Yeah.

So yeah, tomorrow is the first day of our Junior year and I am excited, but I also sort of feel like that this year is comparable with the Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts. After his fourth year, everything starts to change because Voldemort is back right? So that is sort of what is going on now, because of the whole transition to Wienberg and such.
It is best explainable through the last scene in the fourth movie, reproduced below.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione are standing around after saying goodbye to the students of Beubatenx (spelling, I know) and Dumbstrang. Hermione says "Everything is going to change, isn't it". The trio contemplates this and then Harry says "Yeah". They start walking. Excitedly Hermione says "Promise me you'll right this summer". "I won't, you know I won't," Ron says. Turning to Harry, Hermione says "You will, won't you Harry?" "Yeah, every week," Harry says forcibly. They all laugh. The camera pans to the ocean and we see the Dumbstrang boat go under water and the Beubatenx chariot fly away.  And scene.

Good right? All from memory.

So yeah, that is about it......

Confessions, Harry Potter and (Oliver!) Wood

CONFESSIONS
When I cut that blog post super short several days, I really did hate you. Like, REALLY.
You can ask Josh and Shayne because, after I posted that, I shut down the computer and I don't think I touched the computer until the next day. Which, seeing as it's summer, is pretty weird for me. I also ranted to BOTH of them for quite a lengthy amount of time. And I ignored all your calls. But by the second one, I put your number on Auto Reject on my phone. I hated you. Seriously.

But I also hated the fact that I was mad at you but you didn't know it. Grr, I hate fighting with someone who doesn't even have a clue that we are in the middle of a fight! Akaksufsdnfksdyvojnjsdfuodfgwkfjldhfasidisdfhasldfjsdylsdgskuas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know I actually counted the total number of times that I was the "rule-breaker."
Number of times I did "something": 4
Number of times that those "something"s counted: 4
Meaning: EVERY SINGLE TIME THAT I DID SOMETHING, IT COUNTED.

You wanna know what your count is?
Number of times you I did "something": 4
Number of times that those "something"s counted: 0
Meaning: NOTHING THAT YOU EVER DID COUNTED.

(Note: The numbers may be off but what's important here is the fact that I was always the rule-breaker and you never were.)

You know, I let it go lots of times before when I accused you of breaking the rules and you always said "No, it doesn't COUNT."
But when you commented on my 25 Notes, you were clearly, explicitly and apparently TALKING TO ME THROUGH FACEBOOK. Something that directly violates the no text-based communication.
AND YOU DID IT TWICE.
AND YOU HAD THE AUDACITY TO EVEN SAY THAT YOU HAD LEGIT REASONS TO SAY THAT THOSE TWO DIDN'T COUNT WHEN YOU LEFT ME A VOICE MAIL (which, by the way, were one of the Top Three Stupidest Voice Messages You've Ever Left Me, the other two being...oh yeah, THE OTHER TWO MESSAGES YOU LEFT ON THE SAME NIGHT).

Screw you.

So yeah, I hated you. But I also hated the fact that you didn't know that I hated you at the moment. And I know you didn't because you freakin' kept liking every single thing that I posted on Facebook, freakin' liking every single thing I did (freakin' biter), and freakin' liking my entire conversation with Kylene (what the hell is your problem?).

So I guess I don't hate you that much anymore.

Plus, I realized that this is a bad way of starting the year. And the fact that you're my best friend so it's impossible for me to really hate you forever.

HARRY POTTER
I'm going to cry my eyes out at the very end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2. I just know it. Even worse than when I cried when Cedric, Sirius and Dumbledore all died, all both in the books and the movies. WAY WORSE.

I recently finished watching the Sequel and the last scene just resonated with me. It hit me so hard. And I got so emotional when Harry was talking about how we can always return to Hogwarts. And they started singing Days of Summer which is just so sad but true and happy at the same time because I felt like, not only were they singing about their own summer and end of the year at Hogwarts, but also how Harry Potter is slowly going to end with Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows movie and the fact that it's been such a big part of the world and so many people and our generation and everything and everyone everywhere. And I started crying about how Harry Potter's been such a big part of my life. And how, oh dear God, how I didn't want it to end partly because I felt sad that my children were not going to be able to be a part of something so awesome, but if they ever do because maybe in the future, some other person is gonna come up with the next big thing, I don't think that it will be as good as Harry Potter and my kids won't have the same experiences as I did and partly because I felt like I was losing a wonderful friend who has always been there for me no matter what, made me smile and laugh and cry and dream so many times but not really because that awesome friend won't really exactly die, I know, because it'll be more like that that awesome friend is moving or something and he says that nothing will ever change but you know, oh dear God, you know that nothing will ever be the same again no matter how much the two of you try to stay good friends despite the great distance between the two of you and you can't do anything because every part of your being wants to believe that you will always be friends forever but you know that that's not gonna happen but you don't want to say it out loud because it would hurt more and you probably won't be able to say goodbye anymore when it comes time to say goodbye and also partly because by watching the Musical and the Sequel, I came to realize again what I already knew for such a long time, ever since I started loving Harry Potter, something that the fact that there are Wrock songs and Nerfighteria and the movies and the parodies and the games and the theme park in Florida and and and and so much more and, oh dear God, this just goes to show again how many lives the Harry Potter franchise has touched and changed and how many people are going to be sad that there will be no more books or movies to look forward to, just our memories of everything that's happened for the last decade or so that we've all been part of such an awesome thing and I was just so sad but happy and thankful at the same time so I started crying and crying and I couldn't stop.

Yeah.

(OLIVER!) WOOD
Okay, the the title is kind of a lie, but not really.

So, today, my dad and I totally changed the whole plan of making some sort of wooden stool for my locker. Instead, I'm doing the same exact thing you are, except mine is not gonna take up the whole entire thing. Like, there will be a space in front. You probably can't visualize it but you'll see it tomorrow (more details tomorrow when we discuss our Game Plan).

But in order for it not to be a complete lie, I thought I'd share with you something from the books this time because you're always talking about how stuff from the movies are much easier to remember. Okay, so maybe YOU don't remember this but I definitely do. Okay, so when Harry was a first-year, he was super, you have to admit, he was super stupid and ignorant. He didn't even know what a Muggle was?! OMG, come on. So, okay, I didn't really like how dumb he was back then and I didn't realize this until I read the later books because by then he was really smart and he knew a bunch of stuff. So anyway, back to dumb first-year-Harry. Remember the part when he got busted because McGonagall saw him on a broomstick when he was retrieving Neville's Remembrall? They did it differently in the movie because, in the movie, Harry just caught the Remembrall right next to Professor McGonagall's room but in the book, he actually had to do a really wicked dive towards the ground then, like, pull back up so that he doesn't die or anything. So after that when McGonagall told him to go with her, she went to Professor Flitwick's classroom (it was Quirrel's in the movie) and she asked to "borrow Wood." And, this is still so funny to me, because first-year-Harry was so dumb back then he was all, "Wood? Is wood something she's going to use to hit me?" Haha, I found it funny because, duh, that's what he was used to in the Muggle world and I was like, hahahahaha. *sigh* Yeahh....yay Oliver Wood! :)

*sigh*

I went to a family party last night up in Waialua. And I saw this girl who went to middle school with me. I found out in sixth grade that her mom's maiden name was Rasay but I didn't think that we were related. But she was at the same family party as I was...soo??? This other girl in Josh's grade was also there. And she had a sister with whom I also went to middle school. And I was like, "Whoa? Are we related to them, too?" And Josh was like, "Um, I think so. This is, like, the third or fourth family party that I've seen her." And I was like, "What? No way! How come I never saw her?" And, get this. So Josh has a friend from middle school whose last name is also Rasay. And my parents met her parents at their 8th grade graduation and they concluded that they lived near my dad's in the Philippines back when my dad was little when they talked. But then, we saw her aunt and two of her uncles at the part last night, too!

Haha, it's such a small world full of Rasays.

I finished a bunch of stuff today. I'm done with my Mayflower questions, except for one question. The only stuff that's left is my dad's Airman thing, get my bag completely ready, and yeah. I think that's it. Just the NaNoWriMo stuff and transferring songs and reorganizing my iTunes, I guess, but I can hold those off for now. I'll do those after I'm finished with every single possible thing.

Kay, that was a lot.

Something to think about:
What if we had multiple Twister mats right next to each other to make a giant Twister mat and had an epic Twister game with a bunch of people?

Soo many injuries come to mind....

All righty. I'm done.

Oh, wait. Something else to think about:
John's birthday is on Tuesday. I think we should do somethin epically Nerdfighterish in his name.

Kay.

Oh, good God. Here's another one, sorry:
We are going to submit stuff for The Guide. Period. End of story. No discussion. We're doing it.

ALL RIGHT. I'm done for reals.

LONGEST POST EVER!

Look upon me and see a new face. I stand before you a new woman for I have conquered the despised enemy that is Mayflower. However, I have not yet fully tasted victory. Although the main battle has been won, the war is not over yet. Mayflower proved to be a worthy opponent. But it possesses the ability to resurrect itself, only in a different form. Now, after a tiring week or so of combat against the Mayflower, I must now battle another fiendish foe: the Summer Reading Questions. Fear not for my faith will stand strong. I will not fail because I am armed with courage, full of determination, and aided by the teachings of all my mentors. I say to this evil beast, this vile Summer Reading Questions, the same exact words senior master ninja extraordinaire, Master Shaolin, taught me to say whenever faced with a great challenge: “BRING IT.”

***AWKWARD HUMPING STARFISH-OX-TURTLE HYBRID MOMENT***

Okay so, weird ninja-slash-nerdfighter-like bit aside, I am finished with Mayflower! Yesssss...let's all HAPPY DANCE, everyone!!!

***MAJORLY EPIC SIMULTANEOUS HAPPY DANCE***

Whew, that was tiring. Okay, back on track. Just to let you know, this will be the LONGEST post EVER. Yups, check the tags. It says so.

Right. Well then, on to the points of varying levels of interest to you, but all of significant interest to me:

I. ResponsesI don't have much except for some major ones in general and a couple that are specific to your
post yesterday, August 16. I will organize this post as an outline (minus the indentations so pay close attention to the marks!) because I'm Jen. Let's begin.

A. White open spaces! Again and again! Okay, are you working on your posts on Word then copying and pasting it on here? 'Cause if you are, then that would explain the huge white spaces. If you continue to do that, you'll have to manually delete all of the white spaces on here after you paste it to get rid of the white spaces. Or you can be a normal blogger and just type it straight on here. But get rid of you white spaces, darn it!

B. As to what is "in that food" as you so eloquently put, I think I see some cheese, tomatoes, onions, queso, are those chives?, sour cream, lettuce, and even more cheeeeessssyyyyyy queso. Mmmmm, cheese. Who cares what else is in there? Look at all that cheese! I haven't had dairy in a long time. *tear*

C. I, myself, also like the song Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars.

D. I'm also having a hard time for NaNoWriMo. I haven't told you yet, but I totally scrapped the whole dream idea and came up with a new one that I'm so in love with right now. But the problem is it's not fully formed yet. I have EVERYTHING except for a good plot. Which is basically what I need in order for everything to work and have meaning and gah. So, my new idea revolves around the perfect friendship. But I don't really wanna give anything away. So yeah.

E. I am working on setting SMART goals for junior year (more on this later on in the post) and I think that improving your spelling should be one of yours. It's good that you noticed that those particular words are the ones you misspell all the time because now you know what to work on. You should do daily exercises where you write out all of your problematic words correctly spelled, maybe three times everyday and by Christmas, you'll be able to spell them correctly without even thinking. You should totally do it! I'd be happy to help.

II. Tasklist

Okay, so this week is crunch week because we go back to school on Monday! So here's how it looks for me right now (I'm just gonna type it here because I haven't actually mapped out the stuff that I have to do just yet; these are not in order):
Wednesday - ortho and opto appointments; study/review Spanish 2 stuff because I've forgotten everything, finish up chapter one of Physics (I already started and I finished the first half on Sunday night); begin Mayflower questions; prep my locker box thing; write up of Imua features brainstorm
Thursday - finish Matt's cat and possibly work on 3-page project; Josh has orientation and lockers are open so have to go to school to dump stuff; work on my dad's airman thing (I won't even bother to explain)
Friday - (MAJOR WORK DAY) Clean up and reorganize all flashdrives, computer files and my Yahoo! Inbox; finish Mayflower questions; finalize PSAT vocab list; clean up trig binder/stuff; I think I have a family party up in Waialua; transfer Wrock songs
Saturday - finish wrapping boxes for Miss Tamas; everything NaNoWriMo related on my to-do list; finish reading Policy debate topic overview; actually fix up my bag and stuffs; wash my shoes; help my dad make my locker thing
Sunday - do anything I did not finish and sleep early
Oh and I have to blog everyday of course. And those will probably be just updates on what I've accomplished.

III. Soundtrack of My Summer(s)
So, I started doing this last summer because last summer was quite a memorable period of my life. Well, you now how I love to make playlists. Just this summer I have made a total of 31 playlists.

Now I base all of my playlists on a specific person, place, thing, time, feeling, food, etc. The thing is that once a song is related to a person, place, thing, time, feeling, food, etc. I rarely every think of it as not being related to a person, place, thing, time, feeling, food, etc. So if my feelings about a certain person, place, thing, time, feeling, food, etc. changes for some reason, I am stuck in a weird position when I listen to the same song again.

This sounds kind of confusing so let me provide you with an example: Let's say that I like the smell of wood. So, the song "My Best Friend Plank" is placed in my playlist appropriately titled "Wood." But then one day, I am walking along the street when suddenly, I hear a loud crack. And BOOM. A huge branch falls on the pavement right behind me, exactly where I was a split second ago. I think that it's weird, but I keep walking. And I hear another loud crack. And BOOM. It happens again. Then I come to a sudden realization: the trees are trying to kill me. And I run all the way home. I take refuge in my room and grabp my iPod, searching for comfort. I hit play and, yes, a man starts singing about his best friend who is actually a plank of wood and is therefore named Plank. And suddenly, my love for wood transfoms into fear. And I think wood is evil. Many years pass and my love for wood returns. I listen to the same song again and I can't help but remember that, years ago, two trees had tried to kill me. And I feel sad. You know what I mean, now?

Okay, well regardless of whether you understand or not, I'm just gonna go ahead. So I had quite an extensive list for my unofficial Soundtrack of Summer '09 and it included:
-Thunder and Go by Boys Like Girls
-Crush by Cute Is What We Aim For
-Come Right Out and Say It by Relient K
-Sweet Pea by Amos Lee
-Don't Forget by Demi Lovato
-Nothing Lasts Forever by Maroon 5

Anyway, that's just a part of it. So here are some songs from my extensive and unofficial Soundtrack of Summer '10:
-Your Love by Nicki Minaj
-Ridin' Solo by Jason Derulo
-Your Song, Me and Milee, and I'll Be Your Dashing Knight by Luke Conard
-Summer of '09 (Weird, right?), Hey Kristina, You Kissed Me at the Dundies by ALLCAPS
-Just the Way You Are by Bruno Mars
-Cooler than Me by Mike Posner
-California by Hawk Nelson (This song is in every playlist inspired by school breaks)
-OMG by Usher feat. will.i.am

Yeah. I don't really find a recurring theme in the Summer '10 one. But here is another list of some of the playlists that I created this summer:
An Ode to Great Hair/Fitz (about "Fitzwilliam")
My Kind of Christmas (my fave Christmas songs)
Quieres Bailar? (dance party mix)
X (an extension of my Aftermath playlist, I think)
Ready, Set, Jump! (about jumping in love)
iPod Tears (self-explanatory)
Ever Been...? (this one's weird, it's based on the fact that we can all learn from all the relationships that we have or had with others and how the ones that end make us stronger and those that endure make us happy)
Poof (heartbreak that comes suddenly...but not really because everyone around you saw it coming except you)
Nostalgia (missing not "what was," but "what wasn't")

Okay, let's move on!

IV. What I've Been Watching
Okay, so lately I subscribed to two more vloggers on YouTube: Toby Turner and Dan Brown. I think I stumbled upon Dan Brown's videos in the early weeks of summer when I watched an episode of Who Wants to be a Millionaire with him on it. So I checked his videos out and I liked him so I subscribed. Anyway, I really liked the song that he recorded with Hank. I also just recently started watching Toby Turner's videos when he was mentioned by either Hank or John, I can't remember which, on a vlogbrother video earlier this summer. So I checked out his videos and I love, love, loved him. I thought he was super funny and I always like what he does to his iPhone at the beginning of each video. Here are some links, you should check them out:

Dan Brown: http://www.youtube.com/user/pogobat
Toby Turner: http://www.youtube.com/user/TobyTurner

Another thing that I totally found awesome were A Very Potter Musical and A Very Potter Sequel. I watched the parody of Ke$ha and 3Oh!3's song, "My First Kiss," that was made by Kristina, Alexander Carpenter and some other guy (gah, I forgot his name--sorry, Other Guy) and then I went on Alexander's channel and he talked about an HP play called A Very Potter Sequel. So I checked it out and I spent two whole nights watching AVPM. Right now, I'm about to begin watching Act 2 of the Sequel. It's super funny. I mean, for the first one, some parts are just gross and disturbing and it's totally not kid-appropriate but, dude, did you know that these two plays existed?! I think they're pretty cool.

But right now, I think the second one is much better because it fills in some questions I had when I watched the first one. And the songs on the Sequel are much better. I got Shayne and Josh watching them, too, haha.

I especially love Ron, Snape, and Quirell, I'm kinda put-off about how Hermione and Ginny are portrayed, and I can't stand some of the characters (namely, Bellatrix, Molly, etc.) I think the people that play Harry and Draco are just perfect for their parts. And I have great respect for the guy who plays Voldemort. Like, a lot of respect. You'll get it once you watch it the first one and part of the second one.

But, anyway, just watch it all here; go to the Playlists section: http://www.youtube.com/user/starkidpotter?blend=2&ob=4

V. WisconsinShayne's friend from Wisconsin, Margo, whom she met at her Mexico trip, came to visit the island with her family and we took them out a couple of days ago. Yeah. We just drove around and we went to a bunch of places.

VI. The Hair that Triggered Nostalgia

Observe how I tell you a story that doesn't involve any names, so it's not gossip. So I saw this picture on Facebook because it came up on my News Feed (I wasn't creeping; If I was, you know I'd tell you), and I decided to get a closer look at the other pics on the same album and I saw a couple of pics of someone. And yeah. now observe how I didn't finish because I realized that I can't tell the story to its full effect without revealing names of facts about the person that would totally give away to who the person is. So, now observe how I'm going to tell you all about it when I actually see you next week.

VII. My SMART Goals for Junior Year
I haven't worked out the details yet, so these are pretty rough-draft-ish:
-Go to Nationals for debate
-Be faithful to my planner
-Speak fluently in Spanish toward the end of the school year
-Committ to Imua
-Maintain a healthy weight of 103-107 lbs.; decrease dairy intake
-Use all of my free time (free periods, lunch, before and after school) in school wisely
-PSAT/SAT Goals
-Fac Rels Indiv Comm Goals
-NaNoWriMo Goals
-Make a person's day every day
-Write a total of 50 thank you notes
I have more, but I'm only putting these up. You should make your list.

VIII. We'll Be a Dream and Poetically Pathetic
I don't quite remember why this was in my list. But, anyway, these are songs that I love. I liked listening to "We'll Be a Dream" by We the Kings feat. Demi Lovato even before it was on the radio. And "Poetically Pathetic" by Amber Pacific is just awesome, too. Again, I don't remember why these were on my list, but oh well.

VIX. More Nostalgia
I miss my elementary friends from the Philippines. Or maybe I don't miss them, technically, because I was pretty young when I left and I only remember bits and pieces of people. So maybe I miss the idea of their friendship? Nah, I think I miss them. I guess. Maybe. But I definitely miss Stef.

X. I Remembered Something...But then I Forgot
Darn, I remembered something else that I was supposed to tell you while I was typing up item number eight but I totally forgot what it was! But I remember that it was good and it was important! Ahhh, darn it. Okay well, maybe tomorrow.

That is all for now. WOOT--longest post ever!!!

Okay, I am tired. I wanna go to sleep because I have to wake up early tomorrow.
Anyway, you are awesome. I am awesome, especially for this post. Because it's the longest.

Kay.....oh! One more thing (I don't think this was item #10, thought): Yeah, we should definitely
discuss what to talk about when we do the same thing on some days.

Imma proofread and then...

All right, done. That's it for reals now. Good night. I will read your post in the morning (or right after I post, if you already did) because you're still editing, I think. Oh wait, no, I think you abandoned it and then you'll probably finish it later. Well, time for sleepy time.
